Puumala is a town and municipality in South Savonia, right in the middle of Lake Saimaa.

By car

Puumala is at the scenic highway 62 going from Imatra to Mikkeli. Regional road 434 comes in from the direction of Juva.

By bus

Buses between Imatra and Mikkeli stop at Puumala. Moreover, there are buses from Savonlinna via Sulkava.

By boat

Puumala Harbour

Also an option if you're sailing on Lake Saimaa. There have been lake cruises, but as of 2023 information online is scarce.
