Tangub

Tangub is a city in of province of Misamis Occidental, in Northern Mindanao. It is best known for its month-long Christmas displays every December, and as such, it was nicknamed the "Christmas Symbol Capital of the Philippines".

Understand

Tangub was named after an indigenous Subanen word for a type of rice container made from rattan strips. Originating as a small town near Panguil Bay, it became a city in 1967, but it retains a small-town charm. With the opening of the Panguil Bay Bridge, it became the new gateway to Misamis Occidental from Northern Mindanao.

Tangub City Bus Station is served by Rural Transit buses from Dipolog, Ozamiz and Pagadian.

Tangub is connected by road through Rte 79 and the Panguil Bay Bridge.

  • 🌍 Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park, Hoyohoy (10 km from downtown). Nature park with a view deck providing views of the city and Panguil Bay. Also has a stone chapel and a zipline (claimed to be the longest in Asia) Free.
